Unlocking the Incubator in Palworld: A Guide to Hatching Your Pal Eggs
Need to hatch that egg you just stumbled upon in Palworld? Or perhaps constructing the hatchery for your camp upgrade is on the agenda? Fear not, for this guide holds the secrets.
Understanding the Basics of Palworld
As a survival game, Palworld presents a lovely little challenge—establishing a base filled with all sorts of useful buildings. What could be more exciting than farming resources, caring for your delightful monsters, and, of course, hatching eggs? This little guide’s star is undoubtedly the Incubator.
A quick note of clarification: this device was previously known as the “Hatchery” in the Microsoft versions (Xbox, PC Game Pass) and could be unlocked through the standard tech tree. In its current form on Steam, the Incubator is obtained through ancient technology. Just when players thought they’d figured things out, right?
How to Unlock the Incubator
Upon reaching Camp Level 6, your “Box of Pals” will demand that an array of items be manufactured—including a Hatchery and a Crusher—to proceed to the next level. How convenient! Just when a tutorial asks for a jump to Camp Level 7. Here’s where things get a bit fuzzy: it’s crucial to differentiate between camp level and tech level, which relates directly to character progression. Since players wouldn’t want to accidentally confuse a building with a personal growth milestone!
Once the character hits Tech Level 7, the crafting blueprint for the Hatchery magically appears in the purple menu, requiring delightful points from the ancient technologies. It’s as if the universe aligned to guide players through this chaos.
Ready to build? Head over to the construction menu and gather these materials:
- 10 Paldium Shards
- 30 Stones
- 10 Fabrics: Crafted from wool at your workbench
- 2 pieces from an ancient civilization

Using the Incubator to Hatch Your Eggs
It’s surprisingly simple. A little tip: place the hatchery inside the cozy confines of your dwelling since most eggs thrive in warm environments. Building a campfire next to it might be necessary (but worry not; it can be easily removed via the construction menu later).
- Approach the incubator and interact with it to place your chosen egg inside.
- If the conditions check out (not too hot or too cold), the hatch time gets a delightful 100% boost.
- When the timer wraps up, hold the designated button (F for PC) to hatch that egg.
- Your new Pal will be promptly transferred to the team if there’s space, or to the Box of Pals otherwise.
Employing the Hatchery is a splendid method to obtain rare Pals that are likely still elusive. The prime objective now is to hunt for eggs scattered throughout the expansive world. Just to be clear, not the regular chicken eggs destined for breakfast, but rather those vibrant, oversized beauties meant for hatching. Even in the starting area, approximately a dozen different eggs await discovery (hint: climbing that cliff opposite the first teleport point is a great place to start!).
