Palworld: Navigating the Landscape of Chaos
After the glorious triumph over the first colossal boss in the Tower of Rayne, the question arises: where to next? Fear not! Because venturing through the impressive biomes of Palworld is about as straightforward as assembling IKEA furniture without the instruction manual. Here’s a guide to the great unknown, complete with perplexing zones and their corresponding levels.
Biome Breakdown: The Level Playground
Choosing a difficulty setting is like picking a dish at a fancy restaurant—you can select what suits your tastes, but remember, some zones are like a full-course meal after a long diet: it’s going to be a challenge. The world of Palworld is filled with layers of complexity, and right off the bat, it’s important to know that the biome dictates the level of challenge. For example, the arid desert is a much tougher cookie compared to your initial friendly meadow, mainly because it’s hot during the day, frigid at night, and the Pals waiting to be captured are strutting about at levels around 40. Talk about a warm welcome!
Below is a not-so-comprehensive list of the delightful biomes to frolic through in this chaotic world:
- Forests, meadows, and beaches: level 1 to 30. Perfect for a lazy Sunday!
- The Volcano: level 30 to 40. Bonus extreme heat conditions—great for those who enjoy a bit of roast.
- Mountains: level 20 to 50. Bring your thermal underwear; it gets nippy up there.
- The Desert: level 40 to 50 (with the exception of the adorably tiny desert in the center). The perfect blend of hot and cold. Bring snacks.
- Fortress Islands: the southern one hangs around levels 20 to 25, whereas the two large ones on either side are chilling between 40 and 45, complete with a side of “moderate amounts of crime.”
Charting Your Course: A Recommended Exploration Order
Being in early access mode, Palworld doesn’t hand out maps that reveal the cakewalk route through its zones. The tutorial gives players the boot after defeating the first tower boss, leaving newcomers standing there like a deer in headlights. Fear not, adventurers! The illustrious user JayRock on X (formerly known as Twitter), created an astounding image mapping the levels of Pals and enemies across regions like a caffeinated GPS:

Right after slaying that first Tower boss, jump on the exploration train and traverse the main island until reaching level 30. When that’s done, take a detour to the teeny mountain area where a second tower patiently awaits your conquest.
With a sense of superiority and elation, the next stop is the dramatically fiery Volcano out on the western side. Provided with decent gear and a flying mount—bonus points for style—this zone should be merely a sauna experience with a few surprises. Climbing to the top of the highest peak reveals yet another boss ready and waiting.
With renewed confidence and a slightly inflated ego, the grand expedition can now proceed to the expansive desert on the eastern front to tackle the fourth tower, followed by a boss fight in the grand mountain to the north, which marks the ultimate showdown against the fifth enemy. May the odds be ever in your favor!
