As we’ve mentioned before, the quest for legendary weapons in Borderlands 4 inevitably involves farming bosses. The more bosses you unlock, the higher your chances of completing your build with top-tier weapons. This guide will tell you the exact location of Noctepoil, a unique Reaver hidden at the end of a mine.
Where to Find the Boss Noctepoil?
To face Noctepoil, you’ll need to navigate through a new mine known as the Auguries Mine of the Terminus Mountains, located centrally in the region: The Maw of the Call. Upon entering, you will have to perform a series of jumps, similar to those in the Bitter Vein mine, to reach Epinaris. It’s not too complicated—look around for platforms accessible by double-jumping, then try to reach the bottom of the room, which is marked by an ammo chest in front of an ice wall. Once near this chest, turn around to squeeze through a small gap and continue your progress until you reach a vent cover you need to rip off with your grappling hook. Finally, you will encounter health and ammo dispensers, which is a small ritual before stepping into the boss arena. Be wary, though; this boss is quite powerful, so bring your best legendary weapons and check your build before initiating the battle.
How to Defeat Noctepoil?
Noctepoil is a unique Reaver with the irritating ability to remain invisible. Spot his projectiles to discern his location. Your primary goal will be to strip his shield as quickly as possible to expose his health bar. However, here’s the catch: the boss’s shield fully regenerates a few seconds after his health bar is exposed. Therefore, you’ll need perseverance and to emphasize shield damage on at least one of your weapons. Given his substantial health pool, it’s advisable to farm this boss in a group to avoid losing tens of thousands in currency. Lastly, as is convention, keep some minions with low health running around in the arena to easily revive in case of a rough hit. Note that Noctepoil is among the bosses that may show up in Moxxi’s Big Encore machines during the endgame.
