Towering and equipped with moves that could very well crush the ground beneath one’s feet, it’s a leviathan of danger and surprise. Fear not—while it’s an impressive sight, besting this colossus isn’t exactly rocket science.
Adventurers will stumble upon this giant after navigating through the Deep Docks and managing to send Lace packing. Once that daunting task is accomplished, Hornet earns the Dash ability, which proves exceptionally useful for the upcoming challenges in the realm of the Fourth Chorus.
Where to Find the Fourth Chorus
Accessing the Fourth Chorus means wading through the ominous Deep Docks, which sounds a bit like a name for a dodgy pub. After closing the curtain on Lace, a thrilling battle against the clock appears as Hornet is given the magic of Dash, the key to reaching the remote lands beyond.
Midway through this new territory, an enormous platform looms over a sea of lava, like the world’s most dangerous balcony. Initially, the colossal foe is as lively as a statue in a museum—delightfully inert. However, after snagging the Floating Cloak through a rather peculiar tailor’s quest in a floating shell, a second visit triggers a riveting transformation. Suddenly, the Fourth Chorus is awake and eager for battle, like a grumpy giant who just woke up from a 10-year nap.
Attacks and Strategies
While the Fourth Chorus might look like it could star in a monster movie, its attack repertoire mostly consists of its head and hands doing all the heavy lifting. In fact, it has three main moves that tend to evolve like a Pokémon through the fight—growing darker, fire-breathing, and so on. Here’s the breakdown:
- Ground Slam: One of its massive hands charges with light, preparing to smash down on the arena with the grace of a chaotic toddler—with a touch more force, of course. Staying clear of this impending doom is vital, and once the hand is down, it’s game on! A few well-placed strikes can turn the tide.
- Side Sweep: Keeping things dynamic, the boss will lower a hand and sweep across the platform, attempting to send adventurers on a one-way ticket to the lava below. A timely jump is crucial here, especially with the Floating Cloak that allows some graceful drifting back to safety—like a warrior piloting a slightly less pilot-friendly balloon.
- Lava Rock Rain: In a fit of sudden frustration, the boss smacks the ceiling and rain brings down a delightful showers of lava rocks to spice things up. Avoiding these missiles requires not only keen observation but also the dexterity of a seasoned performer—like dodging bird droppings at an outdoor concert.
Each of the four phases brings its own challenges, and as the boss takes hits, it becomes more destructive, tearing out platforms like a child tearing through wrapping paper on Christmas morning. Agility is key here. Quickly stunning the boss may keep the arena from being reduced to a rubble-strewn mess, allowing those strategic jumps to still matter.
Once the monstrous fiend is sufficiently weakened, expect two wind columns to rise like hazy sentinels at either side of the arena. This is the moment to take flight using that nifty Floating Cloak again and reach the ceiling, where charmingly unstable explosive rocks await.
Smash those rocks, and they’ll go tumbling down, causing a glorious avalanche of destruction. When the dust settles, an enormous block will ultimately plummet, splamming directly onto the Fourth Chorus, signaling the end of this monster-sized confrontation—the irrefutable defeat of a foe not so terrifying after all, when armed with the right strategies and a sprinkle of audacity.
