As you progress through the main objectives in Borderlands 4, you’ll unlock new activities and, with them, fresh opportunities to find legendary loot. In this guide, we’ll explore the very first bunker on the Versant map.
The Chaunoire bunker is much easier than its neighbor, Point Critique, located on the opposite side of the Versant map in Borderlands 4. It serves as a warm-up for this category of secondary dungeons, which also includes the Mines of Auguries and Arches. Here, we’ll review how to unlock the door and defeat the local boss.
How to Complete the Chaunoire Order Bunker?
This is likely the very first Order bunker you will tackle once you unlock this activity as part of the main quest. Located to the west of the Versant region, it’s fairly straightforward to access and navigate. However, if you’re not yet accustomed to their specific openings, you might find yourself stuck for a bit. You will actually need to use an acid projectile hidden in the scenery to melt the bunker’s protective barrier. To do this, jump onto a high platform to reach the acid, and then make another leap to reach the door (see the map in the first image). Once the door is open, the corridors of Chaunoire await you, with the obligatory boss at the end of the route: there’s no need to clear every room to access the final arena, just sprint straight ahead, and you should quickly arrive at the exit of this initial dungeon. Stock up on ammo at the vendors, and good luck against the local guardian!
How to Defeat the Core Observer Boss?
This giant Witness has an extensive arsenal of attacks and if you’re not prepared to withstand what it can throw at you, you may find yourself in for a rough time. Among its weaponry, the drone summons minions armed to the teeth that will rush you down but lack health, making them perfect for quick resurrection. It also launches clusters of grenades that scatter across the arena upon detonation, leaving hazardous zones everywhere. Finally, when the Observer’s health drops to 40%, it will go into a frenzy, unleashing projectiles all over the arena: make sure to seek cover when it starts to act erratically. For everything else, effectively navigate the arena’s surfaces while keeping it at a safe distance.
