Here’s another addition to the ever-expanding arsenal of Borderlands 3, where references abound. Following the homage to “The Lord of the Rings,” we dive into the realm of pop culture with the “Compressing Superbolt,” a gun that plays on the nostalgia of video game mascots, more specifically a certain plucky plumber. As shown in the video above, this pistol fires bouncing fireballs off the ground. The sound effect associated with the shots is incredibly reminiscent of when the plumber transforms into his fiery form. To drive the point home, the weapon’s description even speaks of “the power of flowers.”
How to Obtain It?
The Compressing Superbolt dropped for us whilst playing in True Vault Hunter mode on Chaos Mode 1, off of Maliwan employees. As of now, we do not have a definitive method to obtain this quirky weapon, but this article will be updated as soon as we learn more.
Compressing Superbolt
One might expect this weapon to be more of a joke, yet the CS truly excels at close range: its fireballs deal substantial damage, and their bouncing nature makes it an excellent choice for tight arenas. Initially tricky to handle, the Compressing Superbolt proves to be an entertaining weapon, particularly suited for engagements that require some finesse, which we wouldn’t recommend against tinks (as the bouncing balls go over their heads).
