At the beginning of April, Gearbox Software unveiled the manufacturers of weapons that will be featured in their latest game, Borderlands 3. If you want to discover more about them and understand the balance of the bonuses they confer, read on!
The official Borderlands 3 website shared new information at the start of April regarding the weapons and their manufacturers. Most of the familiar manufacturers from previous games are returning, though Bandit and Scav are notably absent, contrary to speculation. A new manufacturer, however, has emerged from the game’s enemy factions: the Children of the Vault. Each of the known manufacturers has received a brief description along with illustrations.
Manufacturers
One Manufacturer is Missing
It has already been confirmed that there are 10 weapon manufacturers in the game. However, we have only covered 9 here. Therefore, Gearbox Software is keeping one last manufacturer a secret for now.
Speculations abound on platforms like Reddit. Some suggest that Pagolin might jump into weapon manufacturing. Others think that the Eridian alien technology might return with weapons labeled “Eridian.” And what about “SnSmunition”? Whatever the case, it’s clear that one brand is still under wraps, and perhaps the mystery will remain until the game’s release!
Elemental Effects

- Electricity
- Corrosive
- Explosive

In its place, there will be a new nuclear radiation element. This new elemental type seems likely to act similarly to slag, making enemies vulnerable. But the details are still scarce on how effective it will be. Furthermore, this new element will deal damage over time (a DOT) and has the potential to spread around enemies that have just fallen. We still need more information on slag’s replacement, but it sounds pretty extraordinary!
Speculation
It seems a sixth elemental effect might also be joining the fray. This rumor is supported by screenshots showing the cryo effect from Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. There’s a possibility we might see it return in Borderlands 3, especially as some enemies seem to be utilizing it…
