Black Ops 4: Zombies and Mystery Boxes in Blackout

The Battle Royale mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 introduces a PvE element with the presence of Zombies. Discover their locations, the mystery boxes, and the special weapons these encounters unlock.

In the Blackout mode, Zombies appear in specific locations. While you can avoid them if you’d rather not encounter them, the loot they drop is often worth the risk. Their presence is signaled by a huge laser beam.

Locations

The undead can be found in five specific locations, but be cautious; their presence isn’t guaranteed at the start of the match. No laser means no zombies.

Call of Duty

  1. TranZit Restaurant (Black Ops 2): Along the road to the east of the Satellites.
  2. Lighthouse (Black Ops): The lighthouse from Call of the Dead is located on a peninsula in the southwest of the map.
  3. Boxing Gym (Black Ops 3): On the bank bordering the river between Rivertown and Fracture.
  4. Asylum (World at War): Inspired by the Verruckt map, the asylum is one of the main locations in the eastern area of the map.
  5. Cemetery: An unnamed area a short distance from the Asylum, heading southeast.

Mystery Boxes

In addition to the Zombies, the laser beam often signals the presence of a mystery box, guarded by these flesh-eating creatures.

The box contains a selection of approximately ten weapons, gear, armor, and other coveted items, making it extremely sought after by players. The exact location can vary, but it is always indicated by the laser beam. It’s likely that it won’t be available when you first arrive at the site; you must eliminate all the surrounding zombies first before you can unlock it.
